Join our Christmas “Symphony of a Thousand” for a mass online sing and play-along to ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ by Mariah Carey!





There are 2 ways you can take part:
1 – Send an audio or video recording of your performance of ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ to symphony1000@mepgscotland.org between the 8th and 18th December. These will be used in the Symphony of a Thousand music video and audio recording.
2 – Join us on the 17th December for our live Symphony of a Thousand event – A mass online live performance of ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ with 1000 people! Click here to register for this event.
Sheet Music, Lyrics and Backing Track
There are easy and hard parts for all instruments, as well as lyrics for singers and chord charts for backline instruments. Anyone and everyone can join in!
You need to download both your part and the backing track to play and record along to.

How to Make an Audio Recording
- Use your phone, computer or other device to record yourself playing or singing along to the backing track of ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’. (If using your phone, you can use a simple voice recorder or the video camera)
- You may need two devices, especially if you are using your phone to record yourself – one to play the backing track and one to record yourself playing along to it.
- Use headphones to listen to the backing track while you are playing along.
- Make sure you have your sheet-music and instrument ready.
- Listen to the instructions on the backing track
- Hit record, play along and enjoy!
- Send your recording to symphony1000@mepgscotland.org
- If the file is too big for email, you can send it via WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com)
- We will mix these all together and create a giant orchestral recording and video!
How to Make a Video Recording
- Use your phone or other camera to video yourself playing along with the backing track of All I Want for Christmas is You.
- You may need two devices, especially if you are using your phone to record yourself – one to play the backing track and one to record yourself playing along to it.
- Use headphones to listen to the backing track while you are playing along if possible.
- Make sure you have your music and instrument ready.
- Listen to the instructions on the guide track.
- Hit record, play along and enjoy!
- Feel free to use fancy dress and get creative with the performance if you would like to!

- We will edit all these recordings and videos together to make one huge collaborative music video!
