The Music Education Partnership Group oversees the running of the Scottish Young Musicians competitions.
Scottish Young Musicians is a festival of music competitions open to every school student in Scotland who sings or plays an instrument. It aims to help young people achieve their ambitions through their talent in music.
After regional heats, the best young musicians are selected to perform at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for the National Final. The winners of the Solo Performer of the Year and Ensemble of the Year receive a stunning trophy designed by Alexander Stoddart, the King’s Sculptor in Ordinary in Scotland. Finalists also receive incredible prizes, including masterclasses, coaching, performance opportunities and cash prizes.
Participating in a music competition has lasting and significant benefits for all that take part. It can also be a lot of fun!
