Nurture Support for Arts Practitioners

Nurture supporting practitioners to develop a nurturing approach to supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of young people in their care.

• How we can work alongside these resources, and incorporate them into individual, group, incidental and regular lessons

Here we will take a broad look at the nurture approach, the key principles and how this looks in practice in Scottish schools. We will then take this into our own experiences and look at how it can be applied within the groups and individuals worked with. Music is such a powerful resource and can be a wonderful creative outlet for young people, so how can we apply consistent strategies and practice to ensure accessibility for all pupils.

This training is funded by the Scottish Government’s Youth Arts Fund through Creative Scotland with support from Youth Music Initiative and Time to Shine. The Youth Arts Fund ensures creative opportunities for children and young people continue to exist across Scotland despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
