Aberdeen City Music School
Aberdeen City Music School (ACMS) is one of six National Centres of Excellence. Pupils in S1 to S6 attend Dyce Academy during the day for their academic lessons and also receive timetable remission to allow for practice time and music lessons. From Monday to Thursday each week, pupils attend ACMS until 8 pm and attend music history, aural, and performance classes whilst also fitting in their ensemble rehearsals and personal practice time. Ten ‘Specialist Weekends’ per academic year are set aside to focus on various aspects of their playing which include masterclasses and concerts.
