For over 20 years, Reeltime Music has aimed to bring about a positive change in the lives of disenfranchised young people in North Lanarkshire by providing affordable recording and rehearsal services; music workshop and training provision, as well as volunteering opportunities, and engaging in numerous partnership projects.

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is one of Europe’s leading orchestras with a rich history stretching back over 125 years. As one of Scotland’s leading cultural institutions, the RSNO is committed to delivering an Engagement programme that provides opportunities and enriches lives through music. Through this programme, the RSNO delivers performances, participatory workshops, educational resources and events that bring the Orchestra to people of all ages and backgrounds across Scotland.

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s innovative and imaginative Creative Learning Programme reaches more than 10,000 people every year. Ensemble music-making is at the heart of everything SCO do and their aim is to bring people together through music to enrich lives, promote wellbeing and foster creativity. SCO musicians and creative practitioners set out to create an atmosphere of trust, patience and positive regard for all, in order that participants feel heard, valued, and connected.

Scottish Opera is Scotland’s national opera company, and has been delivering an Education & Outreach programme since 1971. Scottish Opera run a unique Primary Schools Tour, with around 120 schools and 9,000 pupils participating each year, giving learners the opportunity to perform specially commissioned pieces alongside professional singers. Scottish Opera aims to be inclusive and affordable by providing subsidised and free tickets, and by offering a range of educational activities, through community outreach, participatory programmes and online learning resources.

Sistema Scotland is a national charity that delivers the transformational ‘Big Noise’ social change and music education programme, where the symphony orchestra becomes a community that supports children and young people to gain vital life skills such as confidence, resilience, team work, pride, creativity, and aspiration, and aims to strengthen community cohesion and tackle inequalities in some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged areas.

The Glasgow Barons are a registered charity based in Govan, Glasgow, where their Artistic Director is also a resident and community councillor. Taking their name from Govan’s ship building barons, The Glasgow Barons have been helping make music in the area since 2017, working with and putting on performances in and for schools, community groups and local peoples, working across venues like the Fairfield Club, Govan & Linthouse Parish Church, and The Pearce Institute.

Active since 2003, The Sound Lab is a grassroots, largely volunteer-run charity providing creative opportunities to communities across Glasgow and beyond. The Sound Lab believe that opportunities to make music and be creative should not only be available for those who can readily access and afford it: music making should be available to everyone. Their vision is that, irrespective of age, gender, race, ethnicity or economic background, everyone should be able to access the resources and support they need to fulfil their creative potential.
The Sound Lab are a proudly small organisation; made up of a dedicated team including their expert tutors who, together, bring free music and creativity to hundreds of people every year.

From grass-roots youth work to award-winning arts and music productions, Tinderbox Collective are a creative community of young people, musicians, artists and youth workers.

Established in 2002, the Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra (TSYJO) provides access for talented young jazz musicians to develop and perform on a regular basis in an exceptional youth jazz orchestra. TSYJO attracts some of the best young jazz musicians in the country who effectively constitute the youth wing of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra (SNJO).

Established in 2013, Vox Liminis are an arts and community organisation working within criminal justice, using music among other artistic disciplines to spark conversations into the nature of crime, harm and conflict. Vox Liminis looks to investigate how we might rebuild trust, connection and belonging, by running creative projects in prison and in the wider community with people who have committed crimes, people who have been victims of crime, those who have family experience of crime and justice processes and those who work in this area.

Drake Music Scotland empowers disabled artists and musicians to change music for good. Create, our flagship artist-led programme supports disabled and neurodiverse composers and performers to create high quality artistic work and present it in mainstream settings. We work with them to improve career development and employment opportunities, breaking down disabling barriers to full participation in the mainstream music sector in Scotland, the UK and beyond.
